Our Services

The Best Care Possible

Untitled

Wellness

We believe having a good relationship with our clients and patients is essential to their well being. We offer annual wellness exams to do a physical exam on each animal and discuss any questions or concerns you may have. This is also a good time to do their annual vaccines and coggins test.

Geriatric Health

As caring owners, you want the very best for your aging animal. Thats why we offer a number of services from general bloodwork to cushings tests to joint care and gut health for your horse. We also help you make those hard decisions when it comes to end of life choices.

Equine Dentistry

At Medicine Woman Veterinary Clinic, we offer equine dentistry services, including sedated power floats. We believe that being proactive and getting their teeth taken care of on a regular basis increases their ability to maximize their nutritional intake and performance.

Lameness

Because horses are horses, sometimes they end up hurting themselves or coming up lame. We can help evaluate that with hoof testers, flexion tests, nerve blocks, and digital radiographs. We work with several farriers in the area and can consult with them on what we find.

Emergencies

Even with the best of care, accidents and emergencies happen. These may vary from cuts to colics and anything in between. We are available for current clients should an emergency arise.

Other services

We offer other services, such as AI services for mares, reproductive ultrasounds, diagnostics and treatment for metabolic disorders, treating respiratory tract issues, and many other issues that can arise with your equine friend

Haul-in services

Medicine Woman Vet Clinic has a haul-in facility. This offers more options for doing procedures in a clean, well lit, heated environment. We have the capability of restraining your animal in stocks for safe handling and for hospitalizing them if the need arises.

Ann Snetsinger, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Ann grew up on the Iron Range and has had a passion for animal care since she was little. She always wanted to be a vet and worked hard to make that dream possible. She earned her DVM from the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000, graduating in the top 10% of her class. She then came back to the Range and built up a very successful practice. If you’re looking for kindness and compassion, then there’s no one better than Dr. Ann. As an experienced veterinarian, with over 20 years of experience, she will do her best to help you and your animal. In her free time she likes spending time with her husband and 4 kids, horseback riding, camping, and traveling. She is also active on several boards, and volunteers with the local 4H.

Allana Nash

Veterinary Tech

Allana grew up in Silver Bay, MN, but spent many weekends at her grandparents dairy farm in western MN. Having a love for animals, but unsure of what to do for a career she finished her generals at Hibbing Community College. On the range she met her husband and they have a farm outside of Hibbing where they enjoy their horses, dogs and chickens! In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, drawing and painting and horse shows!

Dr. Snetsinger oldest daughter has worked part time for us for the last couple years. She (of course) grew up with several pets, including horses, dogs, cats, goats, and guinea pigs. She is currently attending college at UMD and working part time at a local dairy farm. She enjoys horseback riding and has been in 4H for many years, including showing her horse and being on the drill team. She also enjoys spending time with her family, her dog Georgia, and camping.

Rebecca Palm

Veterinary Assistant

Dr. Snetsinger's daughter has worked part time with us for several years, and knows all aspects of the practice. She grew up (of course) with many, many pets. Several that she bought herself and brought home to love on. She is a senior in high school and finishing up her AA doing PSEO. She also works at a local dairy farm and in her free time she enjoys horseback riding (from drill team, to trail riding, from working cattle to barrel racing) and playing with her dogs Bubba and Bailey.

Scott Palm

Maintenance

Although Dr. Snetsinger's husband is not technically employed here, he is the behind-the-scenes-maintenance-guy. He keeps things running, especially Dr. Ann's pickup as she racks on the miles. You might also know him as the owner of Palm's Auto Service.
